2022 Summit Venues

Creative Placemaking Summit 8: A Retrospective will reflect on regional creative placemaking efforts that have developed over the past eight years and envision what's next for the Capital Region.
This year, we are showcasing the cultural institutions that support the work of individual
artists and bring talent in from outside the region. We hope you enjoy seeing them all!
Day 1: Monday, Oct. 3, 2022
Shiawassee St. Bridge at Rotary Park (325 Riverfront Dr, Lansing, MI 48912 - exact coordinates here)
Limited parking is available at the former Lansing City Market. Additional parking is available next to the Lansing Center. There are so many fun things you can do at Rotary Park, including Rivertown Adventures, and soon the Lansing Shuffleboard  Social Club. Rotary Park is an excellent of creative placemaking and a great place to launch the Summit!

Day 2:  Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022 
Riverwalk Theatre (228 Museum Dr)
There is plenty of parking outside of Riverwalk Theatre and it is shared with parking for Impression 5 Science Center--another great cultural institution you should visit!

The Robin Theatre (1105 S Washington Ave)
There is parking along the street in REO Town as well as ample parking in the parking lot south of the Robin. Pop into one of the many shops in REO Town while you're there! Many of our local artists sell their pieces in local shops.

Day 3: Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2022 
Lansing Public Media Center (2500 S Washington Ave)
There is plenty of parking right outside of the Lansing Public Media Center (LPMC). So many events happen at the LPMC, like the Capital City Film Festival, and houses organizations like All of the Above Hip Hop Academy. LPMC is an entity of the City of Lansing and helps the community with a public channel that gives increased access to public meetings and events!

Day 4: Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022
REACH Studio Art Center (1804 S Washington Ave)
There are so many programs that happen at REACH that create spaces for youth to convene and collaborate in the REO Town neighborhood. Youth groups at REACH are often tapped to participate with partners all over the Lansing community, creating art installations and cultivating relationships. There are multiple places to find parking around REACH. You can find f
ree, limited parking at REACH lot off Smith Avenue or there is free street parking off neighboring streets (Smith Ave, Coleman Ave, Bank St and W Barnes Ave).

Day 5: Friday, Oct. 7, 2022
Urban Beat (1213 Turner Rd, Lansing)
There is parking along Turner Street as well as in the Cesar E Chavez parking lot at the intersection of Turner Street and Cesar E Chavez Avenue. There are many events and performances that take place at Urban Beat. They attract talent from Lansing and beyond, including the band Time2Play which will be playing the evening after our reception.
