Everett Dance Company
Everett High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, Lansing, MI
Get up from your seat and screen and move with Everett Dance! Director Clara Martinez leads the virtual participants through a simple and adaptive dance at-home exercise and shares a bit about the Everett Dance Program. Everett Dance students express what they cherish about having dance in the public schools, and a student choreography performance piece, "Brown Skin Girl", is virtually streamed.
Student creativity and choreography is one of the foundations of the Everett High School Dance Program. In the performance of the piece "Brown Skin Girl", you see the dancers of the Everett Dance Company not only showcasing their creativity and craft of dance composition, but also you feel their warmth, hope, and celebration of the beautiful community they have created at Everett High School through dancing together. This is a collaborative student-led piece and we hope it inspires you to create and connect with your community too!
