Jennifer serves as Vice President of Business Development for the Kalamazoo Downtown Partnership, guiding organizational strategy, operations and community engagement. In this role, Jennifer manages the organization’s four Citizen Coalitions and leads the development of business recruitment and retention efforts.
Jennifer arrived in Kalamazoo, Michigan from New York, New York, where she served as Director of the Business Improvement District (BID) Program for the City of New York network of 75+ BIDs. In that role, she guided BID development and oversight policy, oversaw BID formation and expansion efforts citywide, ensured BID compliance with contractual and legal obligations, shaped BID capacity building services, and represented the Mayor on BID Boards of Directors across the City. Prior to her time in NYC, Jennifer completed two years of service in the Peace Corps in Moldova where she worked as consultant for a regional development agency to build organizational capacity and shape development priorities.
During her 10 years of experience in the public and nonprofit sectors, Jennifer has held roles with Southwest Michigan First, the New York City Economic Development Corporation, Arizona State University and the Phoenix City Council. She holds a Master of Public Administration from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Arizona State University.
