Dr. Katherine Loflin is a recognized global leader in placemaking: quality of life places and why they matter. She has held leadership and advisory roles in some of the most groundbreaking and innovative placemaking projects including Knight Soul of the Community, Our Miami, Calgary’s Inspiring Strong Neighborhoods, and the Place Capital Inventory in Australia. In October 2014, she was awarded the international Place Marketing Award, named the Guest of Honor, and taught the Master Class at Place Marketing Forum in Aix-en-Provence, France. Through this portfolio of work, Dr. Loflin has earned the moniker of “City Doctor” and is an in-demand, award-winning placemaking consultant advising cities around the world. Her first, much anticipated book titled, “Place Match: The City Doctor’s Guide to Finding Where You Belong,” was released in December 2015 and is available at www.city-doctor.com and Amazon. Dr. Loflin has been featured widely in the U.S. and international press. She was the first to create and host a radio show dedicated to the topic of placemaking called “Place Matters with Dr. Katherine Loflin”. Previously, she served as Program Director for the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation in Florida, helping to guide the foundation’s charitable investment of millions annually. Dr. Loflin received a Masters and Ph.D. in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States. |
