Executive Director, Arts Council of Greater Lansing

Picture
Meghan Martin joined the Arts Council of Greater Lansing in 2017 as program manager and in May 2019, she stepped into the position of executive director.

A Michigan State University graduate, Meghan earned her Bachelor of Arts in journalism in 2006. In 2019 Meghan was one of 15 arts and culture professionals to complete the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs inaugural “Rising Leaders” leadership program.

Meghan has worked with the Michigan Press Association and Tri-County Regional Planning Commission. She has held a variety of roles, gaining experience in programming support, design, communications and event planning. She is passionate about developing creative placemaking projects and promoting the advancement of artists and arts and cultural organizations in an effort to create a thriving, active community for all.

In her current position, Meghan is responsible for leading the Arts Council’s programming and initiatives; managing six grant programs; coordinating the annual Creative Placemaking Summit and other professional development events; providing technical assistance to members; facilitating creative placemaking workshops; public speaking engagements and leading outreach efforts for the organization. As a member of the planning team for Lansing 5:01, her role is to promote Greater Lansing as an arts and cultural hub to attract emerging talent. She also serves on the board of directors for the Michigan Legacy Art Park in Thompsonville, Mich.

Meghan, a lifelong artist herself, was raised to know the love and feel the power of the arts—its ability to move, engage and support.
