The Arts Council of Greater Lansing is pleased to announce that Creative Placemaking Summit 6 will be going virtual (+some surprises) this year on Oct. 14, 2020!
Our world is going through some big changes, and they are making life interesting and unpredictable for everyone! None of us know what is going to happen from one day to the next, so try and stay ahead of the game, we are rolling out our 2020 Summit in a new format that will keep everyone safe, but still be jam-packed full of engaging and fun content.

Creative placemaking has the power to define and express what a community prioritizes and what it is proud of.
We are pleased to introduce you to this year's Placemaking Personalities! These inspired local and national thought leaders will deliver engaging talks that share their placemaking trials and triumphs and inspire you on your creative placemaking journey!
Arts, culture and creative placemaking play a major role in not only drawing new talent into a region, they also are key in keeping talent that already exists! Join local talent attraction and retention specialist Chris Sell as speaks with statewide placemaking experts on how talent and place factor into creating vibrant, successful communities.

As a creative and a higher education professional, I am particularly excited about talking about creative placemaking and its role in talent attraction and retention during this year’s Summit. At the Michigan State University (MSU) College of Music we see this work as part of our mission—to help create a vibrant, dynamic arts scene for Greater Lansing residents through performances, arts education and arts engagement activities.
